The Copenhagen Democracy Summit 2020 takes place at the scenic Royal Danish Playhouse, situated beautifully on the harbor front in central Copenhagen. The summit will gather around 500 guests from around the world to discuss the state of democracy. Guests include leaders and thinkers from business and politics, civil society, media, academics and students. General topics this year will focus around US global leadership and 2020 elections, democracy and tech, responsible business, and defending democracy in hotspots around the world.

Dear participants,

Thanks for your support for the Copenhagen Democracy Summit 2020. We wanted to let you know, that we are closely following the developments regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the related responses by the DANISH AUTHORITIES. Currently, we are planning to proceed with the Copenhagen Democracy Summit as scheduled. We will monitor the situation closely and provide an update in mid-April.

Agenda

The Copenhagen Democracy Summit 2020 is a two-day event that takes place on the 19-20th of June in the Royal Danish Playhouse in Copenhagen.

We will focus on the global state of democracy including US leadership and the upcoming 2020 elections and interference, the growing role of Artificial Intelligence, technology and how responsible business can support democratic values. Once again, we will launch the Democracy Perception Index taking the pulse on democracy globally.

Evening reception on Friday the 19th of June.

Speakers and Participants

The Summit will bring together political figures from the democratic world, including current and former heads of government, as well as leading business executives, academic experts,  students, media and dissidents.

Former U.S. Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright will deliver her thoughts on the global landscape of democracy, and former Prime Minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull will keynote on how to protect democracy from foreign interference. Hong Kong freedom activist Joshua Wong will provide a first-hand account from the frontline.

These are among other esteemed guests that we will host at this year’s Summit.
